Appraiser Skills Training (AST)

The Revalidation Support Unit (RSU) has created an interactive Appraiser Skills Training (AST) module for Appraisers in Wales.

The aim is to provide introductory training for all new medical Appraisers, which will compliment any local training provided by their Health Board (HB) or Independent Designated Body (IDB). It can also be used as refresher training for existing Appraisers.

The training also includes signposting to additional resources and enhanced skills which Appraisers may find useful in their role.

A request for a doctor to undertake the training must be made by the HB or IDB with confirmation of who the doctor’s Appraisal Lead (AL) will be. Please contact the RSU at HEIW.RSURevQA@wales.nhs.uk to request access to the training.
